Review Skin The Lamb : Monolithic [EP] 2017

Review
Skin The Lamb is a result of a collaboration between a number of musicians from various metal groups such as Daath and Six Feet Under. The group is currently in the process of writing their debut full-length album. We take a look at the debut EP by the group, it’s called Monolithic. The group’s 4 track piece has influences that range from Cannibal Corpse to Dying Fetus. If I had to describe this release in a short sentence it would be: brutal, dynamic, fast paced and so damn energetic. All the tracks have a sheer amount of technique in all aspects, the riffs are memorable and fast paced, same is said for the drums and an amazing job done by Andy Gregor and Sean Z (who performed on the title track) for their outstanding vocal work, it’s as brutal and awesome is it can get. My favourite song on the EP has to be Killshot with a doomy acoustic intro and opening riff and all what makes a great death metal song from the pinch harmonics to the fast alternate picking. All in all Monolithic is a perfect sneak peek for what the band has in stock in their forthcoming album which I am definitely looking forward to.
